Zola Jesus Reveals Details on Upcoming Album, Supporting World Tour
Indie singer Zola Jesus is disclosing some more details about her upcoming album, including its art, title (Taiga), and first official track (which you can listen to below), as well as details for her forthcoming world tour to support it. Jesus will start things off at Bimbo’s 365 Club in San Francisco on October 8. From there she’ll play El Rey in Los Angeles on October 9, Chicago’s Thalia Hall on October 16, the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D.C. on October 17 and Webster Hall in New York on October 19. She’ll then fly across the Atlantic to play a series of show in the UK—first at Bristol on October 29 and then on to Leeds, Glasgow, and Manchester. She’ll cross over to the continent to perform in Paris on November 4 and move to more shows in France, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and Amsterdam. Jesus will finish up the tour at KOKO in London on November 18.
Legally known as Nika Roza Danliova, Zola Jesus is known for her catchy mix of electronic, goth, and rock, as well as her somewhat over-thought philosophical approach to art. She self-recorded and self-released her debut album, The Spoils, in 2009, and gained mainstream recognition with her 2011 release Conatus.
