2012 MLB Home Run Derby Tickets

People come to the ballpark to see home runs, so what better event to attend than one filled with them? Some of MLB’s brightest stars will be on display the night of July 9th as part of the All-Star festivities. The AL Team, headed by Yankee second baseman and defending champ Robinson Cano wil square off against the NL side, which is led by Los Angeles Dodger Matt Kemp. Last year Cano hit a total of 32 dingers in 3 rounds to take the title. After being tied at 20 through the first two rounds, Cano hit 12 home runs to Boston’s Adrian Gonzalez’s 11 in the finals to squeak out the victory.
This year, Cano has selected Toronto Blue Jay OF Jose Bautista, Tiger 1B Prince Fielder, and Angels OF Mark Trumbo to round out his squad. Fielder was the 2009 champ and also competed in 2007 and 2011, while Bautista competed in last year’s event. For the NL, Kemp will be joined by OF Carlos Beltran of the Cardinals, OF Carlos Gonzalez of the Rockies, and breakout Miami Marlin OF Giancarlo Stanton. All three are making their first appearance in the event, while Kemp only previously competed in 2011 (finished with only 2 HRs). Kemp has been out since mid-May with a hamstring injury.
