Boston Red Sox Players 2013

Will things change for the Boston Red Sox in 2013? Only time will tell, but it won’t take much to improve on what was a disastrous 2012.

The Red Sox do have some significant bats in their lineup with David Ortiz, Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Dustin Pedroia, and Jacoby Ellsbury all back in 2013. New to the team this year is Shane Victorino who signed a three-year deal in the offseason after having played with the Philadelphia Phillies for the past eight seasons and the Dodgers briefly in 2012. The pitching staff is anchored by Clay Buchholz and Jon Lester with the hopes that John Lackey will return from Tommy John surgery this season and be productive again. In the offseason the Sox signed Ryan Dempster to bolster the starting rotation as well.
