The Butler Bulldogs enter the 2012-2013 season with what one would assume to be a primary goal of returning to the NCAA tournament, something they did in grand fashion during the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 seasons, where they were the national runner-up in both instances. Since Brad Stevens took over the reigns of the program in 2007, the Bulldogs have compiled a 139-40 record and have reached the tourney four out of five seasons.

This season will be the program’s first as a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference as they move away from the Horizon League and take on stiffer competition. The 2012-2013 season schedule for the Bulldogs features non-conference games against #1 Indiana, #21 Gonzaga, and Marquette, and A-10 games against Xavier, St. Joseph’s, Saint Louis, and Temple.
