Houston Rockets 2012-2013 Preview
The Houston Rockets are banking on the hope that Jeremy Lin’s success last year was not a fluke and he is not a flash in the pan. With the Knicks deciding not to match the Rockets’ offer to Lin in the offseason, they picked up one of the biggest stories in the NBA last year and a player that still has many in the business questioning if he is a long term solution to solving a team’s needs at the point guard position.
The Rockets, in addition to Lin, have a roster that features the scoring talents of Kevin Martin and a host of little known names and young players with little NBA experience. It may be a tough 2012-2013 campaign for the Rockets, especially in a division that has the Mavericks, Spurs and always tough Memphis Grizzlies. We’ll see what Lin can do and how competitive they can be.
The 2012-2013 schedule for the Rockets is highlighted by their home opener on November 3 versus the Portland Trail Blazers, November home games versus the Denver Nuggets, Miami Heat and New York Knicks, a Christmas Day matchup against the Chicago Bulls on ESPN, January home games against the Lakers, Clippers, and Brooklyn Nets and a road game against the Lakers on April 17 to wrap up the regular season.
