After finishing the 2011-2012 season out of the NBA Playoffs, the Houston Rockets find themselves this year in the thick of the hunt for one of the bottom three seeds in the Western Conference. Currently holding the seventh spot with a 36-30 record, the Rockets are just behind the Golden State Warriors and now have the Los Angeles Lakers nipping at their heels given their own recent success.

Led by James Harden, a huge addition in the offseason who is averaging 26.4 points per game and is fifth in the NBA in scoring, as well as Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik, the Rockets will be a tough out if they end making it the playoffs for the first time since the 2008-2009 season.
