How to Purchase Houston Texans Season Tickets

There are two different ways to purchase Texans season tickets – through the team’s waiting list or by purchasing a Permanent Seat License (PSL) from the team’s marketplace. 

The Texans have had a waiting list for season tickets since the team’s inaugural season back in 2002, and the list currently has approximately 28,000 names on it. The estimated wait to get to the top of the list is about four years but it may take a bit longer if you are looking to get more than two seats. If you’re interested in joining the wait list, you can do so online via the team’s website here.

If you’re interested in skipping the line and getting tickets as soon as possible, it might be worthwhile to investigate purchasing permanent seat licenses from a current season ticket holder. These permanent seat licenses grant fans that purchased season tickets for NRG Stadium prior to the team’s first year in the league the ability to sell their seats through the team’s PSL marketplace. 

By purchasing a personal seat license from another individual, you then can buy season tickets immediately without waiting. The price of each PSL is set individually by the seller, and there are currently over 981 listings on the Texans Marketplace. One thing worth mentioning is that you still must pay for the tickets, as the PSL does not include the cost of buying the tickets from the Texans. This method can be quite a bit pricier than waiting but it offers you the ability to pick from a wide variety of fantastic seats without having to wait years to finally upgrade your season tickets once you get them through the waiting list.

The Texans average season ticket price consistently ranks near the league average, as the team tends to not increase the cost of season tickets dramatically from year to year.

On-Sale Dates

Season ticket invoices are sent out during February, and depending on payment plan, payment is due to the team at the end of the month of February, March, April or May. 

Those hoping to get tickets through the wait list will have to wait until May to find out whether they’ve been selected, as the team handles seating upgrades and transfers up until the end of April.

Season tickets are usually issued to holders in late June or early July.
