Kansas City Royals Players 2013

The Royals have a lineup that rode on the back of All Star Billy Butler last season. He finished the year with a .313 batting average, 29 HR, 107 RBI and 192 hits. All of these numbers were team highs. The support behind Butler is fairly thin, so you can see one reason why they finished 18 games under .500. As for the pitching staff, the Royals were led by journeyman pitcher Bruce Chen, who finished with a 11-14 and an ERA of a weak 5.04. As with the lineup, the pitching rotation was fairly thin as well, so competing with the likes of the Tigers and the White Sox is going to be a very difficult feat for this team in 2013. Royals fans should brace themselves if they head out to Kauffman Stadium.
