The Angels lineup, first in AL team batting average and fourth in runs, featured the following stat lines in 2012: Rookie of the Year Mike Trout (30 HR, 83 RBI, .326 batting average, 182 hits, 49 stolen bases); Albert Pujols (30 HR, 105 RBI, .285 batting average); Torii Hunter (16 HR, 92 RBI, .313 batting average); Kendrys Morales (22 HR, 73 RBI, .273 batting average), and Mark Trumbo (32 HR, 95 RBI, .268 batting average). Quite a ridiculous offense even with Torii Hunter having left for the Detroit Tigers in the offseason. Add Hamilton to that mix and they are are going to be every pitcher’s worst nightmare. As for the pitching staff, Jered Weaver had a great season with a record of 20-5 and a ERA of 2.81. Don’t forget about C.J. Wilson, who posts solid numbers year after year as well.
Los Angeles Angels New Players 2013
As mentioned before, the Angels made the biggest splash this offseason with the signing of Josh Hamilton. They also added Joe Blanton, Tommy Hanson and Jason Vargas to bolster their pitching staff.
