Mid-Ohio Joins Nationwide; Much Revving Of Engines Is Heard
It’s that time of the year again! The NASCAR Nationwide 2013 schedule has been released, and this collection of dates is not only ready to inspire heart-pounding action, but it’s making auto-racing history. For the first time, a trip to Mid-Ohio is in order. This 2.4-mile, 15-turn road course in Lexington, KY, makes the challenging road courses of NASCAR Nationwide a trifecta, adding to June 22’s Road America and August 10’s Watkins Glen. And you thought auto racing was only about making left-hand turns for five hours! This Ohio stopover brings racing back to Nationwide’s home state – the company is based in Columbus.

The rest of the schedule reads like a racing best-of-the-best: On May 4, fans will hit Talladega for a glimpse at racing’s superstars (minus Ricky Bobby); June 1 takes the cars to Dover International Speedway; and the now-historic Mid-Ohio race will take place on August 17. The season rounds out on November 16 at Homestead-Miami Raceway, providing nine months of sweet, sweet diesel fumes and lightning speeds for NASCAR fans.
