The NBA season is inching closer and closer to its end, however this fantastic season won’t stop until after the NBA Finals–which is shaping up to be a pretty exciting series. For the first time in nearly a decade, the finals will be LeBron-less, and that opens up the door for a new team in the Eastern Conference.

With the playoffs ongoing, we don’t know all the details about the finals just yet, but there’s plenty of info you should have to get prepared for the season’s finale. Here’s a preview of the 2019 NBA Finals.

NBA Finals Start Date

This year, the NBA Finals will begin on Thursday, May 30.

Where are the NBA Finals?

The teams haven’t been determined yet, so we’ll know more about the location in a few weeks. However, if you’re watching on TV, you can find all the action on ABC in primetime.

NBA Finals Format

While the Finals haven’t been set, we know the format that this series will follow. The team with home-court advantage – the team with the better regular season record – will host the first two games of the series. Then, the Finals will shift to the other team’s city for the next two games. If games 5, 6 and 7 are necessary, they’ll alternate between the two cities, culminating in the team with home-court advantage hosting the pivotal game 7.

NBA Finals Predictions

The easy prediction is that the Golden State Warriors will come out of the Western Conference for the fifth consecutive season. Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and the rest of the Bay Area squad have certainly looked like the favorites to win so far during these Playoffs, and they’ll likely be able to hold off any other team in the West.

The Eastern Conference is where things get interesting. Giannis and the Milwaukee Bucks emphatically swept the Detroit Pistons in the first round and have looked like the team to beat all season long. However, Boston’s at full strength unlike last year and definitely have the chance to go all the way to the NBA Finals. If I had to hazard a guess, the Eastern Conference champs will be one of these two teams, which should make the second round series between them all the more exciting to watch.
