Nuggets and Warriors – A Golden Offensive Series
Denver Nuggets – Golden State Warriors 2013 NBA Playoffs
Gentleman, start your engines. And while you’re at it, test the limits of your scoreboards because there are going to be a lot of points scored in this 2013 NBA playoffs first round series between the Denver Nuggets and the Golden State Warriors. The Nuggets are constantly looking to get out in transition and score as quickly as possible, led on the break by the breakneck speed of Ty Lawson and sweet outlet passing of savvy veteran Andre Miller. Many of their fast breaks are keyed by the defense of Andre Iguodala and blocks by Javale McGee; however, the Nuggets aren’t known as a defensive stalwart, so their opponents often have the opportunity to run up their own side of the score.
Enter Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. Curry gained national attention in the NCAA Tournament back in his college days at Davidson, and he has brought his fearless, sweet-shooting game to the NBA since day one. Complimented by Klay Thompson on the other wing and Andrew Bogut & David Lee down low, Curry leads a Warriors offense capable of hanging with anyone in a shootout. Add in their improved defense and rebounding at the hands of Mark Jackson’s coaching, and the Warriors offer a more balanced contest for the favored Nuggets. How will Denver coach George Karl handle the loss of do-everything forward Danilo Gallinari? No matter who wins this series, fans will be entertained each night by the offensive skill and hustle on both sides. Grab a ticket to see for yourself in person!
