Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Memphis Grizzlies Western Conference Semis Preview

The Oklahoma City Thunder have a tall task in front of them as they head into the Western Conference Semifinals against the Memphis Grizzlies. Down the services of Russell Westbrook, who is out for the remainder of the season due to a knee injury, the Thunder will need to find support for Kevin Durant on the offensive end to make up for Westbrook’s production. Durant has been scoring and playing the role of a point forward, a role that he is unaccustomed to playing. One positive for the Thunder is that they do have home court advantage in this round.

As for the Grizzlies, they come off an impressive six game handling of the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round. A tough, defensive minded team, the Grizzlies are led by two big men – NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph. With those two in the front court, Serge Ibaka and Kevin Durant are sure to have some fits getting into the lane.

This matchup could turn out to be a major dogfight and has the potential to go all seven games. Game 1 tips off on Sunday at 1:00 PM EST at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
