The New York Mets enter the 2013 season still in somewhat of a rebuilding mode, having finished the 2012 season with a 74-88 record and in fourth place in the National League East. To date, the Mets have made no significant additions to the roster, at least not enough to fill the holes they have on the roster.
The good news is that they did sign David Wright, the face of the franchise, to a long term deal, essentially locking him up for the remainder of his career in a Mets uniform.
Here is a look at how the active roster stands today for the Mets, minus the few additions they did make in the offseason.

The additions to the Mets roster thus far are in the battery with the signing of Shaun Marcum to add to the pitching rotation and the additions of John Buck and Travis d’Arnaud to the catching core as a result of the R.A. Dickey trade a couple of months back. Other than that, the roster is essentially a mirror image of last year and the starting lineup will look very familiar to Mets fans in 2013.
