The Green Bay Packers Keys To Victory

For the Packers to be successful against a dangerous team like the Eagles they need to do the following:

1. Pressure Mike Vick

Pressure Vick and contain his ability to run. Sounds like a tall order, but with linemen like Clay Matthews and AJ Hawk, and a secondary with Tramon Williams, Nick Collins and Charles Woodson, it can be done.

2. Play Smart on Special Teams

Special Teams needs to play well. Don’t kick to Jackson! If our punter has a game half as good as he did last week against the Bears, we should be able to keep the Eagles far down field.

3. Establish the Running Game

We’ve been playing “running back by committee” all year with little success. If Starks is starts Sunday, the Eagles will have a difficult time containing him, mostly, because there’s not much film on him. A Jackson/Kuhn/Nance running game is good for 4-6 yards at a time. I’m hoping for more 20-40 yard breakouts.

4. Protect the QB

Give Rodgers the time he needs and he’ll make the smart play. He’s done a great job all year protecting the ball and won’t hesitate to throw it away if he needs to. He also has a plethora of deep-ball WR’s that he can throw to. Jennings, Driver, Jones and now Nelson are good targets with great hands.

5. Play Solid Defense

We’ve only allowed an average of 15pts per game and there’s a reason for that. Our defense is well disciplined, they come up with turnovers and INT’s. Our Defensive Coordinator, Dom Capers has done a great job adjusting the schemes to suit our opponents.

I think this is one of the most exciting match ups of the weekend. Not because I’m a Packers fan, but because I’m a fan of the NFL. Who doesn’t love two equally matched QB’s going head to head, putting it all out there for the world to see?
