The Rose Bowl Game is the oldest bowl game in college football. The 2012 edition between the Pac 12 Champion Oregon Ducks and the Big Ten Champion Wisconsin Badgers has all of the makings of an instant classic.
With the high-profile offenses of both the Ducks and the Badgers, perennially two of the top football programs in the country, the game figures to be a high-scoring and entertaining game, perfect to kick off the BCS Bowl Games. As a result of this, besides the BCS National Championship Game, the 2012 Rose Bowl Game is the most expensive bowl game to attend this season. However, ticket prices for the 2012 Rose Bowl Game have fallen steadily since the matchup was announced.

Ticket Prices Have Decreased Consistently Through December
The match-up between Oregon and Wisconsin was finalized after the conference championship games on December 3rd. In the three days following the announcement of the match-up, ticket prices averaged $397.11. Since then, prices have fallen nearly every day, to their lowest point of $133.31 on December 25th.
This is lower than the face value of tickets allocated to both Oregon and Wisconsin, which was $150. Last year, the face value of Rose Bowl Game tickets was $145 and average ticket prices on the secondary market never fell below $165.81. With the game still four days away, it will be interesting to see if ticket prices continue to follow the trend and decrease further below face value.
