With the 2017-18 NBA season underway, we’ve decided to take a look at how ticket prices for our favorite teams are shaping up. Based on SeatGeek ticket sales data, here are the top five priciest teams to catch live (and the cheapest)!

The 5 Most Expensive Teams in the NBA

#5. Minnesota Timberwolves

Ticket prices for the Minnesota Timberwolves have fluctuated over the years, especially after a rocky 2016-17 season, but they’ve still managed to eek out a spot on our list of priciest NBA teams. With new logos, new uniforms and new players, fans are excited to see what they’re bringing to the table this year.

#4. Cleveland Cavaliers

With an exciting last season and a strong fight at the championships, along with top player LeBron James, ticket prices for the Cleveland Cavaliers have stayed high the last couple of seasons.

#3. New York Knicks

The New York Knicks hold the number three spot on this list based on SeatGeek sales so far this year. With the loss of Carmelo Anthony and the gain of Tim Hardaway Jr., hoards of fans have high hopes for an improved 2017-2018 season. Because of this, Knicks ticket prices remain one of the highest in the league.

#2. Los Angeles Lakers

The LA Lakers are the second most expensive team to watch this season and ticket prices have definitely increased since 2016. Why? We’d venture to guess it’s because the Lakers acquired Brook Lopez and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

#1. Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors are the most expensive team on our list, which means attending games this season might cost you a pretty penny. The Warrior’s success the last few seasons–namely two NBA Championship titles and three visits in a row to the championships–definitely play a role in the increase of their ticket prices. Along with having some of the top players in the league, it’s no shock that the Warriors come in at number one.

The 5 Least Expensive Teams in the NBA

#5. Miami Heat

The Miami Heat had a rough start last season, but turned things around during the second half. And now with newcomers Dion Waiters, James Johnson, Wayne Ellington and Rodney McGruder, fans may want to nab these uber cheap tickets while they still can.

#4. Utah Jazz

Although still one of the most affordable teams on our list, ticket prices to the Utah Jazz have increased over the last few seasons. And for the first time since 2012, the team has started the season with a win after defeating the Denver Nuggets on opening night. Maybe it’s all up from here?

#3. Detroit Pistons

Even an $863 million stadium downtown couldn’t attract attendees to the Detroit Pistons opening night, with empty seats throughout the brand new Little Caesars Arena. It’s no surprise that this team is number three on this list.

#2. Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers hold the second least expensive ticket prices for the upcoming season. Although they’re currently the second most affordable team on our list, after their epic win over the Brooklyn Nets during the season opener, they might not stay cheap for very long.

#1. Phoenix Suns

After a bleak 2016-17 season and devastating loss to the Portland Trailblazers during their opening night, ticket prices to see the Phoenix Suns in the flesh are the lowest on our list.
