Pacers Tickets Rise 74% on Secondary Market
Ticket Demand for Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers have demonstrated over the last couple of seasons that they’re a rising power in the NBA Eastern Conference. Their last two seasons have ended at the hands of the eventual champions, the Miami Heat, but only after Lebron, Wade, and company were given all they could handle on both ends of the floor. Defensively strong, and featuring various ways to attack on offense, the Indiana Pacers have developed into a professional squad worthy of their home state’s long and storied history of basketball importance. After failing to make the playoffs for four straight seasons, they Pacers are well on their way to extending the current three-year streak of playoff appearances and lead the Central Division. Led by young talents Paul George, George Hill, Roy Hibbert, and Lance Stephenson, the Indiana Pacers are back at the front of the pack like they were in the glory days of Reggie Miller.
An increasing number of NBA fans are beginning to take notice of the Pacers’ success and potential, and it’s starting at home where the once-dwindling demand for Indiana tickets at their home arena, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, has taken off since the beginning of the year. No other team has seen a larger rise in their average ticket price at home than Indiana’s 74 percent, from $38 to $66. That increase has been fueled on all three levels of the fieldhouse, with 200-level seats increasing 158 percent ($12 to $31), club level seats up 48 percent ($65 to $96), and lower-bowl seats gaining 38 percent on average ($109 to $150). This increase still puts the Pacers in the middle of the NBA pack on the secondary market, ranked 16th overall, after starting this year 24th and finishing last season in 25th place.
Daily Avg. Ticket Price for Indiana Pacers Home Games 2013-14
The hallmark of this resurgence in popularity is tonight’s game against the very same Miami Heat who have ended the Pacers’ last two campaigns. Since 2009, this matchup has the second-highest demand by average ticket price behind only last season’s game versus the Lakers on March 15 ($155). Current resale prices for this Miami Heat game are $102 per ticket ($47 in the balcony level, $177 in the club level and $280 in the lower level). If they manage to defeat the Heat and keep in the race for the overall No. 1 seed in the East this season, expect Pacers home games to continue gaining in popularity and ticket prices to say on the rise.
