Patriots at Broncos Tickets Set New High Price for AFC Championship
Ticket Demand for Patriots – Broncos AFC Conference Championship Game
After they already met this season in a game with a thrilling second-half comeback and overtime victory led by Tom Brady, the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos will meet in the AFC Championship game with a trip to Super Bowl XLVIII in New York on the line. After they rekindled their decade-long personal rivalry with such a memorable game in late November, Brady and Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning will write a fourth postseason chapter in their storied history. Although Brady and the Patriots staked an early lead back in Manning’s days with the Colts, the two quarterbacks have split their last eight meetings and Manning won their last postseason matchup on his way to a Super Bowl XLI victory over the Chicago Bears. The Patriots’ 34-31 victory earlier this season occurred on their home field, but the AFC Championship game will take place two time zones away in the Rocky Mountains on Denver’s Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Denver managed to defend their home field against the Chargers so far this post season, while the Patriots defeated Manning’s old Colts to earn their spot.
While both legendary quarterbacks have been on competitive teams lately, neither has managed to win a Super Bowl in years. This reinvigorated rivalry is fueling an excitement in ticket buyers hoping to watch first hand as Manning & Brady attempt to get their hands on a Lombardi trophy yet again. Whoever wins is guaranteed to be the elder statesman on the game’s biggest stage, with one of two young guns waiting on the other end for the 49ers – Seahawks winner. The average ticket price on the secondary market is $633; that’s 110% higher for the AFC Championship Game than for the Broncos’ divisional round game against the Chargers ($302) and 70% higher than for this year’s regular season Broncos-Patriots game in Foxboro back on Nov. 24 ($372). According to our Deal Score feature, the best values available depending on your budget are: $932/ticket for club level, $770 in the lower bowl, and $410 per seat in the upper deck.
The Ravens comeback, upset victory over Manning’s Broncos last season showed that anything can happen in the NFL postseason, and both of these future Hall of Famers know it’s no guarantee to be back in the AFC Championship again next year, let alone on the Super Bowl field or getting a ring when it’s all said and done. Although they’re veterans, you can’t blame them for at least taking a short glance ahead to the big game. We’ll do the same. For Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, the average ticket price is currently $3,878, and the least expensive seats are listed at $2,400. Lower-level club seats are going for between $8,000 and $10,000 per ticket, and there are 20-person luxury suites listed for as much as $826,000. It’s probably going to be the coldest game time temp ever for a Super Bowl, but the market’s hot as ever without the final matchup even decided yet.
