Don’t miss out on BCS Championship tickets 2012
Last week we took a look at the top 10 bowl games ranked by average ticket price.  Since ticket prices for most of the top 10 bowl games have had significant movement we are updating our Top 10 Bowl Game list.  Three of the top four bowl games are more expensive this week compared to last week (The BCS National Championship game is nearing an average $1000 per ticket), however there are three games on the list that are now over $20 cheaper than last week.

#1 BCS National Championship – Auburn Tigers vs Oregon Ducks – The average price of a ticket to the watch Auburn and Oregon battle for the BCS National Championship is $979.71,  up $137.40 (+16.3%) since 12/7/10.  Auburn won their first and only national title in 1957 and while Oregon is looking to claim their first National Championship.  With each team averaging over 40 points per game this game is bound to be an exciting high scoring shootout.

#2 Rose Bowl – Wisconsin Badgers vs TCU Horned Frogs – Unbeaten TCU looks to show the country just how good they really are against the Big Ten Conference Champion Wisconsin Badgers.  This is TCU’s first Rose Bowl appearance and the Badgers are going for their 4th Rose Bowl win. Rose Bowl tickets prices haven’t changed all that much over the past week, tickets are averaging $392.13 compared to $392.52 on 12/7/10.  Tickets to the Rose Bowl are just 40% of the price of tickets to the BCS Championship game.

#3 Cotton Bowl – Texas A&M Aggies vs LSU Tigers – The Cotton Bowl is not a BCS bowl game but tickets to this game are still averaging more than three of the BCS bowl games.  Cotton Bowl tickets had the greatest percentage change since last week, up 21.6% since 12/07/10.  The $358.42 average ticket price to the Cotton Bowl is now around $40 more than a ticket to the Sugar Bowl and almost twice as expensive as a ticket to the Orange Bowl.

#4 Sugar Bowl – Arkansas Razorbacks vs Ohio State Buckeyes – The average price of a ticket to see Arkansas face off against Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl is $319.16, up $33 (+11.53%) since 12/07/10.  This is the biggest of the three Big Ten vs SEC bowl games on our top 10 list.

#5 Orange Bowl – Virginia Tech Hokies vs Stanford Cardinals – With an average ticket price of $161.54 ($6.81 cheaper than 12/07/10), the Orange Bowl is by far the best bang for your buck to see a BCS bowl game.  Stanford is ranked #4 in the BCS with their only loss being against the undefeated Oregon Ducks and Virginia Tech is on a roll with 11 straight wins.  This is a great opportunity to see Stanford’s Andrew Luck, Heisman Trophy runner-up and likely #1 NFL Draft pick, in what is likely to be his last college football game.

#6 Fiesta Bowl – Oklahoma Sooners vs Connecticut Huskies – UConn’s Big East Championship earned them a spot in the BCS bowl game series.  The Fiesta Bowl will be the biggest football game in UConn history.  Oklahoma on the other hand has a long history of playing in big bowl games.  Tickets prices to this game got hit the hardest in terms of percentage decline over the past week.  The average price of tickets to the Fiesta Bowl is $146.50, down $36.12 (-19.78%) since 12/07/10.

#7 Alamo Bowl – Oklahoma State Cowboys vs Arizona Wildcats – The Wildcats are coming off of a four game losing streak but a win against the Cowboys in the Alamo Bowl can brighten up their season.  The average ticket price to the Alamo Bowl has not changed all that much but moved up 3 spots on our list because ticket prices to some of the other bowl games had significant declines. The average ticket price for the Alamo Bowl is $141.97, a 14-cent decline since 12/07/10.

#8 Capital One Bowl – Michigan State Spartans vs Alabama Crimson Tide – Michigan State must be a little bitter about finishing the season with an 11-1 record and not playing in a BCS bowl game but they lucked out getting matched up against the defending National Champions.  The average price of a ticket to the Capital One Bowl dropped $20.87 (-13.1%) over the past week to $138.34.

#9 Meineke Car Care Bowl – Clemson Tigers vs South Florida Bulls – We now have a lot more data for The Meineke Car Care Bowl game and it still makes to the top 10 Bowl Game list even though it dropped from #7 to #9.  The average ticket price to this bowl game is now at $135.64, a drop of $25.36 from last week when we had limited data.

#10 Outback Bowl – Florida Gators vs Penn State Nittany Lions – This is Urban Meyer’s last game as Florida Gator’s head coach and he will match up against college football’s winningest coach of all time, Joe Paterno.   This game was just one spot out of the top 10 last week but made its way up once spot to #10 even though ticket prices declined $9.63, to $131.37, since last week.
