This week is the perfect week for anyone who follows WWE as it’s the start of the Royal Rumble weekend. The Royal Rumble is one of the most anticipated events of the year for WWE.  If you’re not into wrestling, you can instead watch monster trucks slam into each other which I believe is a great way to spend Saturday.

From the WWE Royal Rumble to Monster Jam, here are the top sporting events in Houston this week.

WWE Royal Rumble @ Minute Maid Park

Sunday, January 26 | 5PM

The WWE Royal Rumble is one of the most anticipated shows in the entire year for all WWE fans. This Sunday, you can grab tickets to watch it live at the Minute Maid Park. Both a women’s and a men’s match will highlight the show as well as a universal championship will take place. The main show will begin at 7pm, but the kickoff starts at 5pm. Why stream the live show when you can buy tickets on SeatGeek to see it live for as little as $40?

Oklahoma City Thunder at Houston Rockets @ Toyota Center

Monday, January 20 | 4PM

This Monday, watch the Oklahoma City Thunders play against the Rockets at the Toyota Center. The Portland Trailblazers recently shut down James Harden and beat the Rockets on Wednesday. Harden scored a season-low that night which could prove promising for the Thunders this Monday night. Grab some tickets to watch how this may unfold live.

UConn Huskies at Houston Cougars Basketball @ Hofheinz Pavilion

Thursday, January 23 |8PM

Take time off before the weekend this week and watch the UConn Huskies play against the Cougars at the Hofheinz Pavilion on Thursday. In October, the Huskies football team defeated the Cougars with a score of 24-17 and had quite the lead during halftime. Grab some tickets to see if UConn’s basketball team can keep the winning streak going for their school.

Monster Jam @ NRG Stadium

Saturday, January 25 | 7PM

I can’t even express how excited I am to let you know about Monster Jam happening this Saturday at the NRG Stadium. You really can never go wrong with big monster trucks destroying other monster trucks to see who is the better monster truck. It’s truly fantastic. You can also get tickets for as low at $18 on SeatGeek, which makes for an incredibly fun and affordable Saturday night of cheap beer and huge vehicles.

WWE Worlds Collide @ Toyota Center

Saturday, January 25 | 5:30PM

Before you watch the WWE Royal Rumble, grab some tickets to see the Worlds Collide show happening Saturday at the Toyota Center. The show was mentioned during their Royal Rumble announcements and fans are very pumped for this event. Some of the matches taking place this night are Imperium vs The Undisputed Era, Rhea Ripley vs Toni Storm and Finn Bálor vs Ilja Dragunov. Grab some tickets, because this is a show you’ll absolutely want to see live.

South Florida Bulls at Houston Cougars Basketball @ Hofheinz Pavilion

Sunday, January 26 | 1PM

This Sunday, watch the South Florida Bulls play against the Houston Cougars at the Hofheinz Pavilion. The Cougars have been playing a really amazing season this year, winning a lot of their games so it’ll be interesting to see the end result of this game against the Bulls.

Champion’s Cup Wrestling presents Best in the House @ Jerabeck Activity & Athletic Center

Saturday, January 25 | 10:30AM

If you’re looking for a wrestling event to watch before you go to your WWE show, grab some tickets to see Best in the House. This event will happen Saturday morning at the Jerabeck Activity and Athletic Center, with tickets from $25. For this tournament, you’ll see performers such as WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, the MK Twins, and MLW Star Gino Medina compete. This is a great way to start your Royal Rumble weekend, and there will even be a meet & greet before the event starts.
