Orlando City SC were a 2015 Major League Soccer expansion team, and they have one the newest stadiums in the league. Their new home opened for the 2017 season. The team played its first two seasons at the Citrus Bowl—now called Camping World Stadium—as they waited for construction to finish on Orlando City Stadium. Orlando City SC shares the stadium with their USL affiliate, Orlando City B, and with the Orlando Pride of the National Women’s Soccer League. Orlando City Stadium is the first stadium to host an MLS, USL, and NWSL team at the same time.

Orlando City Stadium is situated in downtown Orlando, just half a mile from the Amway Center — home of the Orlando Magic.

The new stadium has a capacity of 25,500 for soccer matches, with seating at the field level and on the 100 level. The steep gradient of the stands is designed to put fans as close to the game as possible. In fact, the stands’ steep gradient is the maximum amount allowed at an American stadium. The lower bowl goes all the way around the stadium—with seats behind both goals—while the 100 level seats make a horseshoe formation around the stadium. Canopies installed above the 100-level shield fans from the rain and also amplify crowd noise to make Orlando City Stadium one of the loudest in MLS.

Orlando City FC opened the 2017 season against their rivals, New York City FC; Orlando City won the first game at their new stadium by 1-0 score.

In 2017, Orlando City Stadium hosts the neutral-site NWSL Championship Final and the 2017 Women’s College Cup. The stadium will also host a qualifying matche for the 2018 FIFA World Cup: the United States will play against Panama. An upcoming MLS all-star game will be played at Orlando City Stadium, but a date has not yet been announced.
