We're looking for a VP of Digital Sales to lead the new ad sales department at the biggest ticket search engine on the web.
Where we are now: We sometimes refer to ourselves as the "Kayak of sports and concert tickets." A few months ago, while reading that Kayak makes more than half their money from advertising, we thought "Huh, we're idiots for not selling ads." Using our relationships within the ticket industry, we landed some major deals, such that ads now comprise over 20% of our gross margin. But, frankly, when it comes to ad sales, we don't really know what we're doing. Hence...
Where you fit in: In a year, we want you to be leading a sales team of 8+ people. But right now, you will be building everything from scratch. You'll be defining our sales strategy, building relationships, refining decks, cold calling, warm calling, pitching executives, and working with the rest of the SeatGeek team on sponsorship integrations. You will define the vision for sales at SeatGeek; we want someone who can dive in and feels comfortable doing everything on Day One.
SeatGeek's advertising platform has been heralded by publications like TechCrunch and The Next Web. The technology is there. Now we need someone to take ownership of this platform and guide advertisers through it.
