About the Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens were established in 1996 following the controversial relocation of the Cleveland Browns franchise. Unlike most expansion teams, the Ravens found success relatively quickly, thanks in large part to their dominant defense led by linebacker Ray Lewis. By 2000, the Ravens had assembled one of the greatest defenses in NFL history, which helped propel them to their first Super Bowl victory in Super Bowl XXXV.

Known for their physical play and defensive prowess, the Ravens have consistently been a playoff contender. After a brief rebuilding period, the team captured its second Super Bowl title in the 2012 season, led by quarterback Joe Flacco and a stellar postseason run. Ray Lewis retired after that Super Bowl, further cementing his legacy as one of the greatest defensive players of all time.

In recent years, the Ravens have transitioned into an offensive powerhouse behind quarterback Lamar Jackson, who won the NFL MVP award in 2019. With a solid front office and a strong coaching staff under John Harbaugh, the Ravens continue to be a formidable force in the AFC North, maintaining fierce rivalries with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns.

About M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens

M&T Bank Stadium sits in the heart of downtown Baltimore, adjacent to Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Opened in 1998, it’s home to the Baltimore Ravens and offers a modern NFL experience with great views from nearly every seat. The stadium has a capacity of around 71,000 and is known for its intense crowd energy and purple-light night games.

M&T Bank Stadium tips: parking, tailgating and transit options

Public transit is an easy option with the Light RailLink stopping right at the stadium. If you're driving, buy a parking pass ahead of time through SeatGeek to secure a space and avoid surge pricing.

Tailgating is popular in nearby lots like Lot B and Lot H. Ravens fans go all out with elaborate setups, purple-themed foods and fan chants. The stadium enforces a clear bag policy, so pack accordingly. Inside, expect Maryland staples like crab cakes and Old Bay-seasoned fries.

History of M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore

Built in the late 1990s following the Ravens' move from Cleveland, M&T Bank Stadium was part of a broader downtown sports revival. It was one of the first stadiums to integrate digital signage and has since undergone tech and seating upgrades to improve the fan experience.

Baltimore Ravens game day info and things to do nearby

The Inner Harbor is just a short walk away and packed with bars, seafood spots and family attractions. Be sure to check out RavensWalk before the game, a fan zone with music, food and activities along the stadium’s perimeter.
