Every Time I Die began in Buffalo, New York in 1998. They released their first EP, titled Burial Plot Bidding War on Goodfellow Records before signing to Ferret Records, with whom they would release their next four full-length albums. The band has gained much of their popularity through an avid touring schedule; they have played shows with everyone from Steve-O (Jackass) to Dillinger Escape Plan to Killswitch Engage. Evidence of success began to show with Gutter Phenomenon (2005), which peaked at number 71 on U.S. Billboard charts. Two years later, The Big Dirty did even better, peaking at number 41 on Billboard charts. In 2009, the band released New Junk Aesthetic via Epitaph Records to almost unanimous praise from across the board. Seeing as Every Time I Die is now considered a veteran of the metalcore scene - what with having played Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos and a variety of other festivals - it comes as little surprise. Every Time I Die Tickets - The Music

Every Time I Die play a brand of technical metalcore that frequently carries southern rock influences. In many respects, they are comparable to a slightly more structured version of The Chariot. Lyrically, the band writes from a poetic, literary-savvy perspective. How ironic I'm nailed to the cross, while the vultures stuff their mouths. God and the devil are split by a thin white line, they scream in The Marvelous Slut. It is this aspect that separates them from most other metalcore bands.
