About The Lumineers Tickets

The Lumineers began as a songwriting partnership between Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites in New Jersey in the mid-2000s. The two started writing music together as a way to cope with the loss of Jeremiah’s brother, Josh, who had been Wesley’s close friend. What began as informal jam sessions slowly evolved into a focused creative collaboration. After experimenting with different lineups and performing in small local venues, the duo decided to relocate to Denver in 2009, drawn by the city’s more accessible music scene and lower cost of living. There, they met cellist Neyla Pekarek, whose addition helped solidify the early sound that would later define their rise.

Their breakthrough came with the release of their self-titled debut album in 2012, featuring the global hit “Ho Hey.” The song’s minimalist folk-pop style, emotive harmonies, and stomping acoustic energy resonated with a wide audience and helped the band achieve mainstream recognition. The album earned multiple award nominations, extensive radio play, and multi-platinum status. From there, The Lumineers became known for their intimate songwriting and storytelling, often drawing on personal history and Americana-inspired imagery to craft songs that felt both modern and timeless.

Over the following decade, The Lumineers continued to build their career with critically acclaimed albums such as Cleopatra (2016) and III (2019), each one expanding their narrative ambition and sonic range. Tracks like “Ophelia,” “Cleopatra,” and “Gloria” further solidified them as leaders in the folk-rock revival of the 2010s. They headlined major festivals, launched sold-out world tours, and received multiple Grammy nominations along the way. Despite lineup changes, the core creative partnership between Schultz and Fraites has remained the driving force behind the band, allowing The Lumineers to evolve while staying true to their emotionally resonant, storytelling-driven roots.
