Rihanna is 'Unapologetic' (Updated November 16, 2012)

Rihanna fully established herself during the summer of 2005, and has continued a rise in popularity ever since. It was her third studio album, "Good Girl Gone Bad," that made her a full-fledged star. The 2007 project marked a change of direction in her music, focusing more on dance-pop and spawning several huge hits and collaborations with some big-time artists. Beyond Jay-Z, she also worked with Ne-Yo, Timbaland and StarGate. Singles like "Take a Bow" and "Disturbia" rocketed to the top of the charts, turning Rihanna into one of the world's most renowned pop stars.

The 2009 effort, "Rated R," was released in the aftermath of Rihanna's hugely reported physical altercation with boyfriend and rapper Chris Brown, who would eventually plead guilty to felony assault. With a swarm of tabloid reporters and paparazzi following her every move, not to mention the constant television and newspaper reports, the singles "Russian Roulette," "Hard" and "Rude Boy," all became No. 1 hits. The follow-up albums, "Loud" (2010) and "Talk That Talk," (2011) only fueled the superstar's fire.

The back end of 2012 has produced a more defiant Rihanna, who is using her music to deliver a message to fans and media about her relationship with Brown. In early November the controversial duo teased a musical collaboration on her upcoming seventh studio album. The full track, a Michael Jackson-inspired tune, is titled "Nobody's Business."

Brown is still on probation for his 2009 assault of Rihanna. A sample of the lyrics of the track are as follows:
"Your love is perfection, please point me in the right direction/I'mma give you all my affection/Every touch becomes infectious/Let's make out in this Lexus/There's no other love just like this/A life with you I want, then we can become love's persona."

Rihanna kicked off her 777 tour on November 14, 2012 in Mexico City in support of the upcoming album, "Unapologetic."
