No one will argue that the Charlotte Bobcats got the short-end of the stick in the NBA Draft lottery a few weeks ago when they lost out on the number one overall pick to the New Orleans Hornets. Although the Bobcats were historically bad in the 2011-2012 season, they made the most out of the one pick they had in the first round of Thursday night's NBA Draft, selecting Michael Kidd-Gilchrist from Kentucky, making him the second consecutive player taken from the defending NCAA champion Wildcat team in the first two picks. 2011 Off Season

The Charlotte Bobcats have the beginnings of a franchise that will be competing for a playoff spot in the east in the upcoming years. Point Guard D.J Augustine will be joined by Kemba Walker who is one of if not the most dynamic player coming out of the 2011 draft. Michael Jordan loved what he saw in Kemba and was excited to see him join with the Bobcats. However this lockout is hurting the team and the fan base in Charlotte is limited. This team needs to make some more noise and build a larger fan base for more players wanting to sign and stay with the team. Hopefully Kemba or other players can do this. Look for the Bobcats to have another losing season but don't count it a failure. If they can build chemistry and keep adding young talent they'll be able to make the playoffs and possibly make a short run.
