We work quickly to build awesome experiences and have a focus on our craft, but sometimes things slip through the cracks that are harder to find… that's where you come in.

You will be the discerning eye that takes pride in hunting down those harder-to-find issues, whether it’s vertically misaligned text in a button, or that the app crashes if you click the button 4 times, long press it twice, and then rotate the phone while the data is loading. You’ll be responsible for coordinating testing efforts for releases of the mobile apps (iOS and Android) and website, writing test plans, reproducing bug reports, helping triage issues, and ensuring fans have the best possible experience using SeatGeek.

What You'll Do

  • Work with product managers and technical leads to understand the changes being made and outline what should be tested
  • Investigate and streamline steps to reproduce bugs reported
  • Run regular regression tests to make sure we didn’t break something unexpectedly
  • Build a repository of comprehensive test plans for each section of the apps and website
  • Work with product managers and tech leads to triage high priority issues

What We're Looking For

  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience testing iOS and Android apps in the “internet app” category (a few examples are Facebook, Tumblr, Foursquare, Gilt, Etsy); experience testing websites a plus
  • Someone who is a self-starter, obsessive about organization & planning, and takes pride in articulate elucidation
  • Working knowledge of developer tools related to the role: Xcode, Chrome Dev Tools, ADB/Android Studio, etc.

Job Perks

  • A competitive base salary and equity stake in a well-funded growth stage company
  • A culture where the product is king
  • $120/mo to spend on tickets to live events
  • A laid-back, fun workplace with an endless supply of snacks/coffee/beer, frequent team lunches, and social jaunts organized by Eric Waller, our official Social Chair
  • The opportunity to write code that is used outside of SeatGeek, e.g. we've opensourced our a/b testing framework, Sixpack, our Redis-backed autocompleting service, Soulmate, and our Python string matching library, FuzzyWuzzy
  • A superb benefits package, including full health/dental/vision
  • Hackathons: scheduled times when everyone drops what they’re doing and builds cool stuff in small groups
