An up-and-coming U.S. city, Charlotte has a number of marquee sporting events that are worth a visit from any sports fan. Charlotte Motor Speedway is home to some of NASCAR’s biggest races, and the city is also home to two professional sports teams, the Carolina Panthers (who can be seen at Bank of America Stadium) and the Charlotte Hornets (who play at Time Warner Cable Arena). The city also boasts two fantastic outdoor venues, PNC Music Pavilion and Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheater, in addition to smaller sites like Ovens Auditorium and The Fillmore Charlotte. For theater fans, the Belk Theatre in the North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center is your best bet, as the 2,094 seat venue hosts the best performances the city has to offer.
