While Washington D.C. is most well known for its politicians, the city is also home to five major professional teams and some of the most vibrant music scenes in the country. Located at the heart of the city in Chinatown is the the Verizon Center, where both the Capitals and Wizards play. Many of the big acts that come to D.C. also set up in the Verizon Center, which is located right in the middle of the Metro subway line. On the southwest waterfront of the city is Nationals Park, where the Nationals play. Not far from there is RFK Stadium, where D.C. United hosts its matches. Outside the city in Landover, Maryland, is FedEx Field, home of the NFL’s Washington Football Team. Many would argue the main music venue in the city is 9:30 Club, but the Kennedy Center also hosts a variety of musical artists and other performances. A short drive outside D.C., in Bristow, Virginia, is Jiffy Lube Live, an outdoor amphitheater.
