Risk Software Engineer
As a Risk Engineer, you’ll help build our services that protect SeatGeek, our customers, and our clients from fraud and malicious activity. You'll help us protect some of the largest brands in sports and entertainment (like the Dallas Cowboys), as well as all our individual users who buy and sell tickets on our marketplace.

You'll create available, scalable, and reliable systems using input from product and business team members. Day-to-day, you’ll work together with the engineers responsible for checkout and payment processing infrastructure as well as our Risk Operations team, who use our risk services to monitor for fraud.

What You'll do

  • Develop, integrate, and refine internal tools that help to coordinate and manage risk services across our platform
  • Develop web applications
  • Partner with business leaders to execute our risk management approach from a technical, product, and operational perspective
  • Solve complex technical challenges. SeatGeek engineers have had to create custom solutions to rather unique ticketing problems. Participate in planning the strategic roadmap for Risk Operations
  • Improve workflow automation across Risk Operations, and across the organization more broadly
  • Build and improve internal tools to monitor for suspicious accounts

The Tools We Use

You absolutely do not need experience with all of these, but we thought you might be curious. Tools can be learned, so we care much more about your general engineering skill than knowledge of a particular language.

  • Languages: Python (our primary language), C#/.NET Core, Go and PHP
  • Datastores: MySQL, Redis, RabbitMQ and Elasticsearch
  • Server: Nginx, Tornado and flask for Python, all running on AWS
  • Monitoring: InfluxDB/Grafana, Graylog, DataDog & PagerDuty
  • Version control: Git
  • Clientside: we make heavy use of React/Redux on the frontend
