When the Harry Potter books came to a close years ago, many fans thought their journey with Potter and friends was over. But thanks to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, J.K. Rowling fans get the opportunity to once again return to Hogwarts–this time, by way of the Lyric Theatre. If you wish to be part of the magical Broadway experience, read on to learn tips for getting your hands on Harry Potter and the Cursed Child tickets!

Ticketmaster

If you visit the Harry Potter play’s official website, you’ll find that Ticketmaster is one of the official sources through which tickets are sold. You can buy your tickets online, by phone, or in person. Because the story of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is told in two parts, you have the option to buy tickets for Parts 1 and 2, or tickets to just one part of the play. The website displays seat availability according to the section and chosen date as well as the option to filter searches for “accessible seating only.”

SeatGeek

SeatGeek is a great option if the show you want to attend is sold out, or if you’re looking for tickets for a large group. They offer a 100% buyer guarantee on tickets, and their detailed venue map allows customers to see exactly where they’ll be sitting. The tickets are also ranked using Deal Score, which uses a 10-1 grading system to determine which listings are the best value. You can also sort by price in order to find the cheapest possible tickets available. Right now SeatGeek users can save $20 off their Harry Potter tickets by using code HARRY20 at checkout. Shop tickets here, or view select shows below.

Broadway.com

Broadway.com is another popular option for getting Harry Potter tickets. If you’re seeing the play with a group of 12 or more people, the site provides the option of purchasing group tickets. Like Ticketmaster, fans are encouraged to check weekly options for the shows’ current availability.

Box Office

If you want to buy Harry Potter tickets in person, you can visit the Lyric Theatre box office, located at 214 West 43rd Street in New York City, New York.

Cancelation Line

Even if a show date is sold out, that’s no reason to give up completely. Plans do change, and that means a few canceled tickets might be available. Arrive early on the day of the performance and stand in the cancelation line. If you’re prompt and lucky, you just might be able to buy a ticket!

Sign up for the Official Email List

To know the latest information about future availability, it’s probably a good idea to visit the Harry Potter play’s official website and sign up for the email list. You’ll be kept in the loop when new dates/tickets are released, and can secure your seats way ahead of time.

The Harry Potter Lottery

Worried you can’t afford tickets? No problem! The TodayTix mobile app runs a lottery for the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child show. Every Friday, during an event known as the “Friday Forty,” they release 40 tickets for “some of the very best seats in the theatre” for every performance of the upcoming week for just $40 (or $20 per part). You must submit your entry between Monday at 12:01 AM ET and Friday at 1:00 PM ET. They notify winners between 1:00 PM ET and 5:00 PM ET on Friday. Keep a sharp eye out! Winners have only one hour to claim tickets after receiving their notification.
