Austin Grand Prix Weekend Events

A Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend is more than racing, it’s an experience. With tons of concerts, events and fanfare leading up to Sunday’s race, your ticket is essentially getting you into a 3-day festival. The main stage at the Circuit of the Americas is the Germania Insurance Super Stage. Green Day will headline Friday night and Ed Sheeran will headline Friday night. Interpol and Diesel (aka Shaq) will perform Sunday after the race. Check out the full list of performers at the various satellite stages.

In addition to the music performances, there’ll be plenty of on-track entertainment. Pirelli Hot Laps take place on Saturday before Practice Session 3 and Sunday before the race. Here you’ll see F1 drivers take celebrities or journalists out for laps around the track in road sports cars. Also on Sunday, be sure to watch the Driver’s Parade, where all Formula 1 drivers join in a celebratory lap around the track.

Be sure to see the Circuit of the Americas full F1 events schedule before race weekend kicks off.

How to Get to the Circuit of the Americas

There are plenty of options for getting to and from the racetrack. The first thing you should know is all on-site parking at the track requires a pre-purchased pass. At this point, all parking passes are nearly sold out. While you may be able to pick up a pass on a secondary market, the shuttle may be the better option.

Shuttle passes can still be purchased today. You can buy single-day shuttle passes for $35 or get shuttle access for the full 3-day weekend for $100. Austin has dedicated shuttle lanes, newly expanded locations and a fleet of 600 shuttle busses to make it the best option for transportation to the track. Make sure to buy your tickets in advance as prices are higher for same-day purchases.

There are three shuttle locations for transportation to the Austin Grand Prix:

  • Downtown Austin @ Waterloo Park

  • Northeast Austin @ Travis County Expo Center

  • Southeast Austin @ Barton Creek Square Mall (Saturday and Sunday only)
