The 2023 Pro Bowl is just around the corner and fans can hardly wait to see what this year will hold. Over the years, the Pro Bowl has undergone quite a lot of criticism for being a glamorous event more than a football game. Critics have also pointed out a lack of seriousness from players and a lower level of intensity in comparison to the regular season and playoff games.

Instead of trying to make the Pro Bowl resemble a classic football game, the NFL decided to move away from full contact entirely and create a new format that fosters both fun and competition. The 2023 introduction of the Pro Bowl Games is a reminder to have fun, step back and celebrate the best players in the NFL.

Here’s everything you need to know about the 2023 Pro Bowl Games and how to purchase tickets.

What is the Pro Bowl?

Dating back to 1939, the NFL Pro Bowl has taken on many identities since its inauguration. The event began as the National Football League All-Star Game and later changed to the Pro Bowl in 1951. Despite being called the Pro Bowl from 1951 to 2022, the event has changed format many times.

This year marks another big change for the NFL Pro Bowl – which we think will be the best yet. The 2023 Pro Bowl Games format will be highly influenced by the direction of Peyton Manning and his Omaha Production team and features weeklong skills competitions and three flag football games.

The skills competitions will test players’ abilities within and outside the scope of football. The eight games include Precision Passing, Best Catch, Move The Chains, Gridiron Gauntlet, Kick Tac Toe, Pro Bowl Dodgeball, Longest Drive and Lightning Round – Splash Catch.

The Pro Bowl skills competition games and the first two flag football games will utilize a point system contributing to the overall Pro Bowl winner.  All points will be calculated before the final match, which will determine the winning conference of the 2023 Pro Bowl Games.

Who is playing in the 2023 Pro Bowl?

The NFL Pro Bowl roster will include 88 players, determined by votes from fans, coaches and players. The legendary Peyton Manning will coach the AFC team, and Eli Manning will coach the NFC team.
