Take in the history

While every team has Opening Day festivities, only the Cardinals include the Budweiser Clydesdales taking a lap of the field. This is just one example of what the Cardinals mean to the city, and how Opening Day is one of the biggest days of the year in St. Louis. This is a serious baseball city, and many fans surveyed offered two words of advice for first time visitors: Wear Red.

"This is baseball heaven. There isn't a bad seat in the house."

The pregame party

Many downtown stadiums have restaurant districts around the venue, but few if any hold up when compared to Ballpark Village in St. Louis. Located right outside the stadium, it is the spot to meet up at prior to a Cardinals game. It has tons of food and drink options as well as a retractable roof, which means that the weather is always perfect.

"The pregame atmosphere at Ballpark Village (just across the street) is a party unto itself."

A hearty snack and a local beer

While there was some fan disagreement between buying seats that are all inclusive versus bringing your own snacks, there was one snack most fans agreed on: helmet nachos. There is nothing like sharing (or not sharing) a batting helmet full of tortilla chips and toppings. And of course no trip to St. Louis would be complete without a Bud Light, as the Budweiser headquarters is just down the street.

"Be prepared to be around some of the greatest fan pride and spirit ever! Also...get a huge plate of nachos. And a beer. You gotta."
