Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney to combine summer tour

Jason Aldean's plan to be a little bit country, a little bit rap and a lot of rock 'n' roll continues to pay off in big ways.

At this point, there's no doubt that everyone wants to "Take a Little Ride" with Aldean. He's got a huge tour behind him, another one coming up in 2015, and a brand new album out to follow up 2012's "Night Train."

The first single from that aforementioned new album, "Burnin' It Down," was released back on July 22, 2014 and was the first cut off "Old Boots, New Dirt," which bowed on October 7. The song reached number one on both the Hot Country Songs chart and the Country Airplay chart despite its EDM production and plenty of negative feedback from critics. The midtempo ballad about a sexual encounter with a lover was even called "creepy" by the website 'Saving Country Music,' and Aldean himself said the song was a different style for him due to it being more sexual in nature and featuring a drum loop.

The album's second single, "Just Gettin' Started," was released on November 10, 2014 and had climbed just outside the Top 10 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart as of this writing.
Aldean's upcoming summer 2015 tour will merge with Kenny Chesney's The Big Revival Tour for at least ten stadium shows. They will play in cities like San Francisco, Dallas, Green Bay, Seattle and Denver before wrapping in East Rutherford, New Jersey at MetLifeStadium on August 15.

One of Jason Aldean's latest singles might have been called "Night Train," but Aldean's career is more like a runaway train.

Aldean was everywhere in 2013, performing his smash hit "My Kinda Party" on the People's Choice Awards, co-hosting the CMT Music Awards, collaborating with everyone from Lenny Kravitz to Ludacris and moving tickets faster than the box office could actually sell them. And there's no slowing down for the country crooner in 2014, as he gets set to perform at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway the day before the Indianapolis 500.

That's not the only sports venue Aldean will visit this year. In fact, Aldean's "Burn It Down Tour" will take over a number of baseball stadiums when it fires up the buses for a 45-city trek beginning May 1 I Roanoke, Virginia. On the list is a concert at Cincinnati's Great American Ballpark, which is already sold out, as well at stops at Progressive Field in Cleveland, PNC Park in Pittsburgh and Nationals Park in Washington D.C. (the announcement prompted The Washington Post to run a blog asking, "So, who is Jason Aldean?")

The red-hot duo Florida Georgia Line ("Cruise") and newcomer Tyler Farr ("Redneck Crazy") will open for Aldean on tour. Another special guest in the works appears to be Miranda Lambert, who set the Twitterverse ablaze on January 30 when she accepted an invitation from Aldean via the micro-blogging/social media site to play those select stadium dates (and participate in several wiffle ball games along the way).

"It's your world, and I'm just passing through," Jason Aldean sings on one of the cuts from his fourth studio album, "My Kinda Party." Yet the humble Macon, Georgia native has been on top of the world since that 2010 release. It's sold nearly 3 million copies, spawned five smash hits and earned a Grammy nomination for best country album. In short, it's been a wild ride for a man who has gone from constant rejection to one of the hottest acts in all of music.

Aldean, whose real name is Jason Williams, taught himself how to play guitar. He first performed in a VFW hall at the age of 14, made this way through college towns and had a publishing deal by age 21. But he also had plenty of doors slammed in his face after he moved to Nashville. He was dropped from several labels, had showcases in some of the city's hot spots fail to generate interest, and ultimately gave himself a six-month window to find success or head home to Georgia. Five weeks later he inked a deal with indie label Broken Bow Records. The rest, as they say, is history.

If Aldean's career was smoldering after three albums – "Jason Aldean," "Relentless," and "Wide Open" -- then "My Kinda Party" was the spark that truly ignited his career. It spent 12 weeks atop Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, broke new ground with the monster success of the hip-hop/country hybrid single "Dirt Road Anthem," and launched a tour that topped 800,000 tickets sold.

Aldean's most recent studio album, "Night Train," has only helped to continue the upward trajectory. The first single, "Take a Little Ride," was his highest debut to date, and the second, "The Only Way I Know," featured Luke Bryan and Eric Church. The latest release, "1994," is a tribute to country crooner Joe Diffie.
