What happens in Vegas… goes live on TV when Formula 1 announced its new location for 2023! When I think about Vegas, I think of casinos, decadent hotels, and an “anything is possible” attitude. Las Vegas is all about the superlatives.

Known for glamor, excitement, and glitz, Vegas and Formula 1 paint a beautiful image together.

Formula 1 in Vegas

Las Vegas hosted races in 1981 and 1982, but 2023 will be the first year in which F1 cars will race on the iconic Las Vegas Strip. The circuit sweeps famous hotels and casinos like Caesar Palace, Bellagio, and the fake Eiffel Tower. The 3.8 mile-long circuit has 50 laps and features three straights, a high-speed cornering sequence, and a single chicane section. The top speed reaches 212 mph.

While most F1 races take place on Sundays, this one will likely take place on a Saturday night in November (possibly over Thanksgiving weekend). This way, it will be easier to watch both in the U.S. and overseas.

Vegas’s bumpy roads will be resurfaced, and the cars will only go down one side of the strip. All we can say is that Vegas and Formula 1 is one combination that will be at least interesting to watch. Prepare the popcorn, grab your tickets, and get ready for the show — we are!
