SEO Product Manager
You’re a jack-of-all-trades motivated by the mystery of search engines’ black boxes, by the potential embedded in their enormous reach, and by the rush of outsmarting your competition and rising to the top of page one.

You’re a deft project manager: copiously well-organized, task-focused, and a persuasive interdepartmental communicator. You’re a curious, rigorous, and self-sufficient explorer of data. You’re not an engineer but you fluently understand how websites and search engines work. You have a knack for always finding a graceful compromise between the ideal solution for search engines and the ideal solution for humans.

What You'll Be Doing

As our new lead SEO it’ll be up to you to ensure healthy year-over-year organic growth for SeatGeek. You’ll:

  • Develop and maintain a world-class SEO analytics stack (rank tracking, crawl health, logfile analysis, competitive intelligence, etc.)
  • Be responsible for SEO forecasting, centralized reports and dashboards, and ad-hoc data analysis/exploration
  • Manage major search-related projects like template updates, URL pattern rewrites, markup, HTML & XML sitemaps, app indexing, etc.
  • Run rigorous split tests & other experiments to optimize search metrics & conversions
  • Launch & revise on-site pages & features to broaden our search reach & improve our internal link graph
  • Oversee linkbuilding efforts through partnerships, PR, & content marketing
  • Conduct periodic mini-audits of SeatGeek and our search competitors


  • Project management
  • Data analysis (spreadsheets, SQL, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
  • Technical SEO
  • SEO software/applications (Google Analytics, Search Console, Moz, Screaming Frog, DeepCrawl, Majestic, BrightEdge, etc.)
  • Linkbuilding/content strategy
  • Lightweight web development (HTML, Javascript, CSS) = a plus
  • Programming (git, Python, PHP, etc.) = a plus


Within your 4+ year SEO career, you’ve led or worked on one or more sites with at least several of these characteristics:

  • large (100k+ pages)
  • local
  • funnel-/conversion-oriented (e.g. ecommerce or subscription business models)
  • performance-driven
  • mobile-focused
  • technically sophisticated

You’ve most recently held a full-time in-house/client-side job, but you might have made your bones at a reputable search marketing agency. Your degree might be in a quantitative field like economics, statistics, or mathematics.
