About Shane Gillis
Shane Gillis, born on December 11, 1987, in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, began his stand-up comedy career in 2012, performing at local venues in his home state. His sharp observational humor and candid commentary quickly garnered attention, leading him to win the "Philly's Funniest" competition at Helium Comedy Club in 2016. This accolade propelled him into the national comedy scene, where he became known for his unfiltered comedic style.
He released his first comedy special, "Shane Gillis: Live in Austin," on YouTube in 2021, followed by his second special, "Shane Gillis: Beautiful Dogs," on Netflix in 2023. Additionally, he co-created and starred in the Netflix comedy series "Tires," which premiered its first season in May 2024.
Gillis made a notable return to SNL as a host in February 2024, humorously addressing his previous firing during his monologue. In 2025, Gillis announced an international stand-up tour covering the U.S., Canada, Ireland, and England, scheduled from January to June. This tour follows his successful arena tour in late 2024, where he sold out venues typically reserved for sports events, further cementing his status in the comedy world.
