The History of Motocross
Motocross is a type of off-road motorcycle race. The races can take place on gravel, mud, or grass road circuits. In the early 1900s Auto-Cycle Clubs would host time trials, these evolved into off-road events. There are four main types of motocross competitions: Super Cross, Freestyle, Big Air and Super Moto. Today, motocross is thriving thanks to corporate sponsorships and event like the X Games.
The Live Motocross Experience
Looking to attend a motocross race? Luckily SeatGeek has a great inventory of motosports tickets. Seeing a race in person is almost shocking. It’s easy to forget how physically demanding this sport is. Unlike most sports which require obvious physical effort, motocross appears deceptively easy on TV but in reality, racers are putting their futures on the line every time they jump on a bike. The other more tangible appeal for watching live is the dirt, noise, smoke and crowds - just doesn’t get any better.
Notable Motocross Performers
From Jeremy McGrath and James Stewart - some of the most spectacular riders in the sport - to Ricky Carmichael, Chad Reed, Ryan Villopoto, and Ryan Dungey, there are so many household names in motocross.
