The beloved romantic comedy Pretty Woman comes to life on stage, dazzling audiences as they experience these iconic characters in ways they never have before. With the musical talents of Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, this musical adaptation of the timeless movie is sure to delight audiences whether you have seen the movie or not. Songwriting partners Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance bring an authentic 90s feel to the stage production's soundtrack. Both as individuals and a duo, Jim Vallance and Bryan Adams have written and produced numerous hits, including the internationally acclaimed song “Heaven. ” In addition to their work together, Bryan Adams also wrote and performed the soundtrack of Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, released in 2002. Pretty Woman: The Musical launched with vocal powerhouse Samantha Barks playing Vivian. A veteran of the stage, Samantha Barks garnered attention in 2008 when she performed “Defying Gravity” on the BBC Talent Show, I'd Do Anything. While she came in third overall, that performance set Barks' career on a path that led to her being cast as Eponine in the 2010 London Production of Les Misérables. It was there that famed producer Cameron Mackintosh saw her play the role in her opening night. He was so impressed by her performance that he chose her to play Eponine in the 25th Anniversary Concert of Les Misérables in October 2010 just four short months later. This led to her film debut as Eponine in the 2012 movie adaptation of Les Misérables. The Pretty Woman launch also featured Broadway veteran Andy Karl taking on the role of Edward Lewis. A prolific and celebrated stage actor, Andy Karl has performed in such musicals as Rocky the Musical, Legally Blonde, Wicked, and Jersey Boys, just to name a few. He has been nominated for more than fifteen awards since 2013, winning several awards including the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical, and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical. After a limited five-week run at the Oriental Theater in Chicago, Ill. , Pretty Woman made its way to Broadway, delighting fans of the popular 1990 film. Pretty Woman opened at the Nederlander Theatre in New York, with the first preview on July 29, 2018 garnering critical acclaim. Pretty Woman officially opened August 16, 2018. There are nightly shows, Monday through Saturday at 8 p. m. , with an additional 2 p. m. matinee on Saturdays.
