About Amy Schumer Tickets

Whatever you know Amy Schumer for now—the award-winning sketch show, the starring roles in films, the random internet controversies that pop up every six months or so—she always has been and always will be a stand-up comedian. She was named Class Clown upon graduating South Side High School on Long Island, but her comedy career didn’t actually begin until she was 23 years old and out of college. In the world of stand-up comedy, where many spend over a decade onstage before they consider themselves to be “good,” Schumer was a remarkably fast riser. In 2007, three years after trying stand-up for the first time, she not only received an audition for the NBC show Last Comic Standing (which is more than many established comedians get), she got on the show and finished fourth. From there, she continued to gain experience onstage and build her career. She never strayed far from Comedy Central, appearing on the roasts of Roseanne Barr and Charlie Sheen, in addition to other programs. In 2011 she released Cutting, her only album to date, and in 2012 she landed her first Comedy Central special, aptly titled Mostly Sex Stuff. She has since done two more hour-long specials, Live at the Apollo for HBO in 2015 and The Leather Special for Netflix in 2017. In 2013 her sketch show Inside Amy Schumer debuted on Comedy Central to great critical acclaim, as she is a five-time Emmy nominee—and one-time winner—for the series. She wrote the 2015 comedy film Trainwreck and starred in it alongside Bill Hader, and also starred opposite her childhood idol Goldie Hawn in the 2017 film Snatched.
