Kacey Musgraves Details

Born in Golden, Texas, Kacey Musgraves is a talented country singer and songwriter who started making music at a young age. Not only did she loves singing, she learned several instruments too. From lessons on the mandolin to the guitar, Musgraves took a liking to all aspects of music making.

Musgraves, always determined and driven, self-released three albums of her own before landing a spot on USA Network's singing competition, “Nashville Star” in 2007. The then-19-year-old placed seventh on the show, earning a strong fan base as a result. Following her run on Nashville Star, Musgraves recorded two acoustic covers for Triple Pop Records in Austin, TX. These included OneRepublic's song, “Apologize” and Miley Cyrus' “See You Again.”

Musgraves’ acoustic cover of “Apologize” reached the Billboard Hot Singles Chart quickly and received millions of streams on Spotify. This young star soon found herself working with the country’s greatest megastars; just five years after appearing on Nashville Star, Musgraves joined Lady Antebellum on the European leg of their Own the Night Tour. That same year, she signed with Mercury Nashville and released her solo debut single, “Merry Go ‘Round.’”

The following year, in 2013, Musgraves co-wrote Miranda Lambert's song, “Mama's Broken Heart.” It’s no surprise that Musgraves has snagged a number of awards and nominations over the years. In fact, in 2014 Musgraves took home two Grammy Awards including Best Country Album for Same Trailer Different Park and Best Country Song for “Merry Go ‘Round.’” She’s also received a number of Country Music Awards.
