Welcome to SeatGeek Front Row, where SeatGeek employees share their best tips for getting the most out of live events. For this edition, Integrated Partnerships account manager Brittany Haby breaks down what it’s really like to experience a Denver Nuggets game at Ball Arena from the Select Health Club Level.

Catching a Nuggets game at Ball Arena isn’t just about going to an NBA game, it’s the perfect excuse for a full night out in downtown Denver. From pregame dinner and drink spots to insider arena tips (including a deep dive into Club Level seating), here’s how to do game night the right way.

How to get to Ball Arena for a Nuggets game

Since I live outside of Denver, I took the train into Union Station and walked over—honestly one of the easiest ways to get to Ball Arena on game night. It skips traffic, parking stress, and puts you right in the middle of downtown.

If you’re coming from out of town or prefer to drive, there are also plenty of parking lots and garages around Ball Arena, Auraria Campus, and Union Station. Many of them are available to book ahead of time through SeatGeek, which makes it easy to plan your night without scrambling for a spot last-minute.

Tip: Whether you take the train or drive, building in time to grab a drink or dinner near Union Station makes the whole night feel smoother and more relaxed.

Where to hang out before a Nuggets game

One of the best parts of Nuggets game nights is how walkable everything is, so I turned the trip to the arena into part of the fun. I started at Union Station with a drink at Terminal Bar (great people-watching and plenty of spots for a full meal), then walked over to McGregor Square to catch other games at Tom’s Watch Bar and soak in the pregame buzz. From there, I cut through the Dairy Block to Moo Bar, a food hall–style stop with a full bar, multiple vendors, and a relaxed but social vibe.

After that, it’s an easy, well-lit walk with a stream of fans heading to Ball Arena. With Club Level seating, you can typically enter Ball Arena 90 minutes before tip, so aim to arrive early. That way, you can clear security, explore a bit, grab food or drinks and still make it to your seat in time for warmups.

Tips for arriving at Ball Arena for a Nuggets game

From the moment you arrive, Club Level access changes how the entire night feels.

Using the private Club Level entrance

Club Level ticket holders get access to a dedicated club entrance and can typically enter the arena up to 90 minutes before tip-off.

If you’re someone who tends to cut it close to game time, this is huge. Instead of joining the longest security lines, you go through a shorter, smoother security process and get upstairs to the Select Health Club Level concourse earlier than most fans.

For me, that meant I could grab food and a drink before things got hectic, explore the Club Level, and still make it to my seat in time to watch warmups. The whole arrival felt more relaxed and intentional instead of rushed.

If you don’t have Club Level: Michelob Ultra Mountain House

If you’re not on the Club Level but still want a slightly upgraded way into the arena, Michelob Ultra Mountain House is a great alternative. It’s a restaurant and bar inside Ball Arena where you can make a reservation or just grab a drink, or just walk in, cut through and use it as your entrance to the rest of the arena.

You don’t need a reservation to use this entrance, and you can order food to go and bring it inside with you, which is perfect if you want something more substantial than traditional concessions.

What is the Select Health Club Level at Ball Arena?

Think of the Select Health Club Level as a step between standard lower-bowl seating and suites. You’re not in a private box, but you’re also not dealing with the same crowds, lines, and congestion as the main concourse.

Nuggets Club Level Front Row

Select Health Club Level at Ball Arena is on the 200 level, covering sections 202–260. These sections wrap around the arena and are positioned above the lower bowl.

With a Select Health Club Level ticket (I was in Section 204), you get:

  • Access to the club-only concourse

  • A dedicated club entrance separate from general admission

  • Private restrooms on the Club Level

  • Exclusive concessions and bars that only Club Level guests can use

  • Lounge spaces like Código Lounge and Colorado Social Kitchen & Cocktails

  • More comfortable seating with great views of the court

What stood out immediately is that it feels premium without feeling disconnected from the game. You’re still part of the main crowd and energy, but everything around you—lines, noise, movement—feels more controlled and relaxed.

Food and drink options on the Club Level for Nuggets games

Food and drink ended up being one of the biggest highlights of the Select Health Club Level for me.

The key difference: Club Level concessions and bars are exclusive to Club ticket holders. You need a Club ticket to access that entire concourse, and people from other levels can’t just wander up. That instantly cuts down on lines and crowds.

Lounge and bar options

Two of the signature Club Level spaces are Código Lounge (near Sections 202–204) and Colorado Social Kitchen & Cocktails (spanning several club sections).

At Código Lounge, you’ll find:

  • A full bar with cocktails, wine, and a wide selection of beers, from standards like Coors Light and Michelob Ultra to more elevated and craft options from Breckenridge Brewery and others.

  • An area called “The Cantina” where you can get items like loaded nachos, carnitas tacos, green chili chicken and roasted veggies.

Colorado Social is more of a full “kitchen and bar” setup, with:

  • Comfort food like mac and cheese, flatbread pizzas, burgers, sausages, and chicken tenders

  • Lighter options like salads, wraps, and hummus

  • Desserts including churros and ice cream sundaes

  • A full bar with cocktails and a deep beer list on tap and in cans (Kona Big Wave, Breckenridge Brewery, and more).

The overall setup makes it easy to customize your night. You can sit down for a bigger meal before the game, grab something fast during a break, or treat it like a bar stop between quarters.

Specific Club Level stands and what to try

Beyond the lounges, the Club Level concourse has several specialty stands that keep the menus fun and varied:

  • Mile High Mac – A mac-and-cheese–focused stand with mac bowls and Bavarian pretzels. It’s exactly what you want on a cold Denver night.

  • Rice Bowls – Options like crispy pork fried rice, gochujang chicken, and tofu with veggies if you’re looking for something a little more “meal-like” and less snacky.

  • Grab-and-go spots – Pepsi Grab & Go and similar stands on the Club Level offer salads, wraps, turkey clubs, pizza slices, chips, and candy, plus beer, wine, and seltzers, so you can be in and out fast.

Between the lounges, stands, and bars, I never felt locked into one type of food. There was always something quick if I wanted to get back to my seat and something more substantial if I had a few extra minutes.

Important note: Food and drinks on the Select Health Club Level are not all-inclusive. You pay as you go—the premium is in the access, variety, and ease, not in bundled pricing. UMB Reserve is the area that's all-inclusive for Ball Arena.

What the atmosphere is like at Ball Arena during a Nuggets game

Once you’re inside, the energy at a Denver Nuggets game is next level. Ball Arena fills up with passionate fans who know how to bring it—especially when Denver is on a run or closing out a tight fourth quarter.

From tip-off on, every three, big defensive stop, and Nuggets run has its own sound, with chants and crowd noise building on top of each other. The Jumbotron and in-game features—replays, stats, fan cams, and contests—keep everything moving between plays so there’s never much dead time.

From my seat, I also felt incredibly connected to what was happening on the court. I was close enough to hear players calling out plays, communicating on defense, and reacting in real time, which made the whole experience feel more immersive.

You really get a sense of the pace, physicality, and intensity of the game when you’re that close, it feels less like you’re watching from the stands and more like you’re part of it. Every big moment hits differently when you can hear it and feel it.
