It's been some 13 years and numerous lineup changes since the Chromatics became a thing, plowing through the Pacific Northwest as a quartet that featured vocalist Adam Miller, drummer Hannah Blilie, guitarist Devin Welch and bassist Michelle Nolan.
The aforementioned foursome officially debuted in 2002, and released their debut album "Chrome Rats vs. Basement Rutz" the following year. Any chance for success was short-lived, however, since all members except Miller left to form their own band.
A revamped group still calling itself Chromatics released "Plaster Hounds" in 2004, but lineup changes continued to plague the band. With all the change, their sound and live performances were also affected, though the group often continued to tour with labelmates Glass candy, as well as Desire. Why? Both were side projects of vocalist Johnny Jewel.
The Chromatics have released three studio albums, with the most acclaimed being 2007's "Night Drive." Various songs from the project have been licensed for use in television shows (both domestically and international), films, ads and runway shows. They later gained recognition in 2011 for their song "Tick of the Clock," which was featured in the "Drive" film and soundtrack by director Nicolas Winding Refn.
On October 23, 2011, Chromatics released what would be the title track to their most current album, "Kill for Love." After that, the band began to leak other tracks like "Into the Black," "Lady," "Candy" and "Back from the Grave." It all led to the full album release on March 26, 2012, with the title track featured on TV shows like "Parenthood, "Bates Motel," the ever-popular "Gossip Girl" and ABC's hit drama "Revenge."
