Seat Geek is surprisingly really good. I’ve used a few of the other ticket apps and they are expensive and charge pretty high fees. The app is super easy to use and works well at the ticket line getting in places. I haven’t had any troubles at all and I’ve been to 10 events using seat geek with my girlfriend. Big Fan!!Sep 23

About Monty Python's Spamalot
The musical Monty Python’s Spamalot began as a loving and irreverent adaptation of the iconic 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Conceived by Python member Eric Idle, the show was developed in the early 2000s as a stage production that would capture the troupe’s trademark absurdity while expanding it into a full Broadway-scale spectacle. Idle collaborated with composer John Du Prez to build a score packed with comedic numbers, cheeky references, and intentionally over-the-top theatricality. From the beginning, the creative team set out to blend the film’s classic moments with new storylines, songs, and characters that would make the show feel fresh even to die-hard Python fans.
Spamalot premiered in Chicago in 2004 before opening on Broadway in 2005 to both popular and critical success. The show starred major theater names like Tim Curry, David Hyde Pierce, and Sara Ramirez, whose performance of “Find Your Grail” became a standout highlight. Critics praised the musical for honoring Monty Python’s legacy while thriving as its own piece of entertainment, full of meta-humor, slapstick, and affectionate satire of musical theater itself. Its playful production design, elaborate costumes, and surprise comedic beats helped it become one of the most talked-about Broadway openings of the decade.
The musical went on to win multiple Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and launched numerous national tours, international productions, and a devoted base of theater fans who were introduced to Monty Python through the stage adaptation. Its success cemented Spamalot as a significant chapter in the broader Monty Python legacy, proving that the group’s surreal British comedy could thrive far beyond television and film. Over the years, revivals and special performances have kept its spirit alive, ensuring that Spamalot remains not just a parody of Arthurian legend but a celebration of the enduring, cross-generational appeal of Monty Python.
Monty Python's Spamalot is currently on a national tour throughout the United States.
The current tour of Monty Python's Spamalot will run from December 4, 2025 through August 26, 2026.
The Monty Python's Spamalot tour will visit major cities including Las Vegas, Rochester, Houston, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Chicago, and more.
Spamalot is a musical comedy based on the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The book and lyrics were written by Eric Idle, with music by Eric Idle and John Du Prez. It adapts the story of King Arthur and his knights on a hilarious, irreverent quest for the Holy Grail — complete with cow-flying, killer rabbits, flatulent Frenchmen, rubbery shrubbery, and dancing divas.
The musical captures the absurdist, satirical, and surreal comedy spirit of Monty Python, while adding the spectacle, songs, and theatricality of a full-scale musical. Its numbers — such as “The Song That Goes Like This,” “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life,” and “Find Your Grail” — have become fan favorites.
Spamalot has been widely celebrated in the theatre world. Some of its key awards include:
Tony Award (2005): Spamalot won Best Musical. It also won Tony Awards for Best Direction (for director Mike Nichols) and Best Featured Actress (for Sara Ramirez).
Other theatre awards (2005): The show won top honors at the Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Musical (among other categories).
Grammy Award (2006): The original cast album won Best Musical Theater Album.
Over the years, international productions (e.g., in London) were also recognized: the West End version earned nominations for major honours such as the Laurence Olivier Award.
