Khalid Details
Though Khalid will kick off his 2018 tour a few weeks shy of his 20th birthday, this young, hip singer has a maturity and wisdom about him that draws in fans from all walks of life. His debut album American Teen is an honest look into the life and thoughts of American teens today, written by a young man while he was still in high school. His first single, “Location”, was recorded the week before his senior prom and hit platinum by the end of the summer. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Khalid sold out every one of his venues on the 21-city tour January-February of 2017. This fresh, hard-working talent has no plans to slow down, and his jam-packed 2018 tour schedule proves it.
In his relatively short time in the spotlight, he’s already won the MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist in 2017, and was nominated for a total of 9 awards in 2017, including a nomination for the Teen Choice Awards for the song, “Location.” He’s also nominated for several 2018 Grammy’s, including Best Urban Contemporary Album, and Best New Artist.

Khalid Setlist
Khalid will be performing his entire American Teen album, but a few songs on his setlist stand out. “Angels” was featured on Grey’s Anatomy on an episode that aired April 27th, 2017. A haunting ballade about guardian angels and grief, Khalid’s unique voice makes this heart-wrenching song all the more touching. “Location” is the wildly popular, catchy tune chronicling the challenges of teens trying to find love in the digital age. Originally written to impress a girl, this jazzy tune has caught the attention of fans all over the world.
“Winter” is Khalid’s tribute to El Paso, TX. It’s not his hometown, but as a military child who moved around a lot, El Paso became the city that he calls home. “Winter” is his way of giving back the love the people of El Paso have given him. Khalid wrote “Let’s Go” before his graduation, and the song more than reflects the excitement he and many young people feel when they’re about to start a new chapter in their lives. “Cold Blooded” is an honest look at an unhealthy relationship, and the turmoil that many people experience in those situations.
Khalid’s music may be an eclectic mix of the feelings and emotions of someone just starting out in life, but one thing is clear. Khalid has a knack for introspection and putting everything he sees and feels into lyrics that inspires fan the world over.
