Some of the Rams’ best playoff performances came while the team resided in St. Louis. The team moved there is 1995, the same year that Kurt Warner stocked shelves in an Iowa grocery store. The league skipped over Warner in the 1994 NFL Draft. Warner made the 1994 Green Bay Packers training camp before an early cut.

While Warner honed his craft in the Arena Football League with the Iowa Barnstormers, the St. Louis Rams made a number of key acquisitions, including new head coach Dick Vermeil. Four years later, starting QB Trent Green got injured in the preseason, and Warner became the rams starting quarterback.

America nicknamed the Warner-Marshall Faulk duo “The Greatest Show on Turf,” amassing an incredible 41 touchdowns and 526 regular-season points. Warner’s Rams carried the honeymoon through the postseason all the way to Super Bowl XXXIV versus the Tennessee Titans. Warner threw for two touchdowns and 414 yards. The Rams defense tackled Titans Receiver Kevin Dyson at the one-yard line on the last play of the game, to win 23-16. The Rams returned to the Super Bowl two seasons later, losing to the New England Patriots 23-16.

In 2016 the Rams returned to L.A. and drafted Cal QB Jared Goff first overall. Now, back in California, the Rams are ready to revive “The Greatest Show on Turf” in Hollywood.
