The Pac-12 championship game is a relatively young one, having only been played since 2011. That was the year that Colorado and Utah joined the conference and made what was the Pac-10 into the Pac-12. When they joined, the conference met the NCAA’s minimum qualification of 12 teams and therefore were able to hold a championship game. .

However, since 2014, the game has been played at a neutral site, Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. It will be played there through the next few seasons as well.
